This year  the executive decided that Kara Robinson would be the deserving winner of this trophy, donated by Rose Hickson in memory of husband Tony who sadly passed away with cancer many years ago after himself serving the league as Secretary and general driver of all things Crewe and District. Rose wanted the trophy to be awarded to people who followed in Tony's footsteps in serving the league administratively.

Clearly, with Kara being a current exec member, we had to be a bit deceitful therefore we set up a decoy which fortunately distracted her sufficiently to make the award a surprise on the night of the 2026 Presentation Dinner. The league secretary did a reveal listing Kara's many admirable contributions oner many years. Kara comes from a sporting family and success was a regular feature showing up in the household trophy cabinet. She started as a junior player and graduated to senior club with Canute. Fortunately she also branched out into club administration as well as having a lot of success on the court. She qualified as a level 2 coach and ran the Canute junior club for some time whilst it competed in the junior league. As a player she represented Crewe league in the Baxter trophy and also volunteered to manage the Crewe team on occasion. Kara serves on the exec having done 5 years as Tournament Secretary and is now in her second year as Fixtures Secretary. Kara follows a long list of worthy winners and we all congratulate her on this accolade.
